I was seasick ON the reef ! :(
I went scuba diving and barfed 20 feet below the surface. Mate, that's not a pretty site but at least I took the regulator out first. :-
We did the all tourist things.
Croc farm (just me 'cos she hates crocs).
Sky rail and train ride back.
Daintree Tour inc a private walk through virgin forest at Noah's Creek (private property and untouched)
Cape Tribulation (why would you bother - its was wet and windy)
Outer Reef on Aristocat (see above :() but the reef is magnificent and the fish :2tsup:
Fabulous accommodation, right at the end of the main street and opposite the beach. That meant we could just walk around the corner and we were in town but it was nice and quiet there too. In fact it's a great time to go, just before peak season. All the tours were only about 50% booked so we had lots of room to move around etc.
Bacon and eggs every morning, restaurant and a bottle of wine every night, warm but cloudy, what more could you want. It was great.
We were on the reef all day Monday so didn't get a chance to catch Cliff unfortunately (or not, as the case may be :D)
I for one am really glad to be back. 5 days stuck with Gumby without a break. My god Gumby has a voracious appetite. I'm going to be sore for weeks.
No, it's a young person's place. Although I think there must have been a Willy Nelson look-a-like competition going on somewhere. :D Maybe it was part of Carnivale week.
Nautilus was really nice but not cheap. We set a match to $260
The Combine Club is pretty good for a cheap feed. I liked 'On the Inlet'. Nice food.
I think the best value for money and really nice food was at Zeus. I had the best baby octopus there...yum.
Actually, while I was there, I found out that cane toads are spreading south. But what they don't say is that joggers are spreading north. I saw one as far north as Mossman. :((
Have our cane toads already reached Mosman (Sydney) :o
