Why is the sky blue?
So we can play cricket without lights!
Its due to the Rayleigh scattering effect where blue, being a shorter wavelength gets scattered off gas molecules (i.e. ozone) whilst the longer wavelengths pass straight through.
Why the Sky is Blue, a Poem by John Ciardi
I don't suppose you happen to know
Why the sky is blue? It's because the snow
Takes out the white. That leaves it clean
For the trees and grass to take out the green.
Then pears and bananas start to mellow,
And bit by bit they take out the yellow.
The sunsets, of course, take out the red
And pour it into the ocean bed
Or behind the mountains in the west.
You take all that out and the rest
Couldn't be anything else but blue.
Look for yourself. You can see it's true.

What a tricky person you are...I was of course going to answer "Rodney Marsh" until I realised the 54 was not his average test runs (try 26 and a bit) but the number of cans of beer he would consume on a flight between Perth and Rottnest Island. So I delved deeper and woke up to your cunning plot:
The answer is: my favourite netty girl:-LIZ ELLIS!!!
Do I get to ask a question now or is it someone elses turn? Oops that's another question I suppose!
Cheers,

That is the year that the lightning rod was first applied. Hmmm. I thought that happened in the US.
Edmund Blackadder wore a pair of novelty breasts and tried to impress his religious Aunt at the same time?
Not fair. Trick question. There was no such date. This was one of the dates missed when changing from the Julian to the Gregorian calendar.Quote:

This was necessary because the difference between the Julian calendar and the Gregorian one now added 11 days to the year. Over time this difference would have increased due to the lack of a leap year in the Julian calendar which adds a 1/4 of a day every four years.
The new formatting is EXCELLENT. :)
