I ran a tracert on my system, and it gets to the forum on the hop after west-datacentre.net (your hop 11). So I'm not at all sure how this can be a problem with your system, as you were only 1 hop away.Quote:

Still off-air here in San Antonio and it's not just my computer. Nobody I've asked locally can get on the site via regular Internet access. I still have to use TOR to bypass the blocking servers.

I think the squirrels are conducting a series of rolling strikes. Yesterday (Tuesday) I couldn't connect to the forum from about 5 o'clock in the evening, and despite many attempts during the night I had no luck. I tried again at 5:00 this morning and still no luck, I was able to connect after 8:00 this morning. Again this arvo at about 4:00 o'clock I was unable to connect, tried again at 6:00 and all good.

There were about 20 MS updates for Win 7 published on the 12th of May.
I haven't downloaded them & installed them yet, sounds like it might be a good idea not to. :think:

Fortunately, running Linux I don't get those sorts of problems :) I'm still running the same machine that I bought 12 years ago. Having just done a restore to factory on a two year old Win7 machine for a friend for the same reason as you, I was surprised to note that my machine is just as quick as his. Comparing Firefox and Chrome with the same web sites on both machines. Libre Office starts up a little faster on Linux. Not much else to use to make comparisons with.Quote:
