Is it just me, I'm experiencing problems getting into the forum. Sometimes I get straight in, and at other times I have to wait ages for a page to load up.
What's going on Neil?
Ken
Seems to get very slow in the evening... At peak time I guess.... Server need a reboot?
For tonight at least you can expect things to be slow. The internet is choked with people watching video of the Tsunami in Japan.
We're just tweaking the cache and mysql settings and seeing if things improve. I haven't been able to trace whats causing the load, nothing is logged, no heavy duty jobs run around this time.
It could simply be the traffic influx, its clearly the busiest time of the day.
Server load is currently 0.12 the server busy message doesn't display until load is above 10.
Sunday night is the busiest time of the week on here, it passed by without incident. It's safe to say the changes I did saturday night and sunday morning have helped.
Thanks all for the feedback over the last few days :)
:2tsup:
:? getting old notifications subscribed too and just received them after having gett notifications at the normal hours for the last 2 weeks.
Steve all has gone back to normal again this mornings e-mails show a time of 0023.
If I have any more arrive out of sync I'll do as requested as the ones I mentioned have already been deleted.
Thanks Steve
G`day the last couple of times I have tried to logon I have been redirected to a add for woodworking plans Is that from my end or yours??????
Mick:D
I reckon it might be your end Mick.....check the URL you are entering, as ours is Woodwork Forums - Powered by vBulletin and there is another pretty close to ours that flogs plans.
Couldn't get in for the last hour or so, just got a connection timeout error and then database too busy page.
Me too, I suspect some work was done on the server or backups were run, I'll make sure Steven is aware of it.
Me too, i thought it was everyone trying to read your latest update Groggy!
Hi,

How ever I renewed my desk top link and all is back to the regular speed. So I suspect that this maybe a common problem with those of us who use a link to logon.
cheers
don't know whats going on this arvo super slow to load about 15 seconds and the format of everything is a bit different as well as not showing the "reply " box just having to rember where it is
Veeeeerrrrrryyyyyy sssslllllloooooowwwwwww........
Been okay down here. Maybe a local ISP problem?
Yep! I'm with Cliff on this one it is very slow here. Other sites OK and nothing running in background.
Its running at the speed of a dial up connection on a 286 computer. I can't read all the previous posts because it would take all night to get through the pages.
Damn slow here tonight, I find the speed varies a bit (between slow and painful and I am on ADSL2) one thing I have found is that when you want to use inverted commas it doesn't put them up and will often put the first one at the point where you are closing the "Quote"" just like there I had to hit it twice and then had 2 of them at the close end. I have also found that some of what I type doesn't come up, and I am not a fast typist, and often have to go back and type in what is missing which is when it seems to also miss things out just like the inverted comma thing. oh and just discovered my emoticons don't want to work!
I'm not having any problems at all. :)
The response times have been spasmodic here on the Gold Coast for a couple of days. At about 5pm today I gave up trying to refresh the new posts page, I eventually got the text but only about half the images came up before I walked away.
still on and off at least i can now see the reply button
Running better now. An hour ago it was pretty slow (currently in Brisbane).
Service not brilliant up here, sticky getting to post or failure sometimes last couple of days. (and today)
Not sure how we connect but everything is humming right along from 53N in Canada.
I have had 2 days this week where every thing went ok the rest of the time it has been very slow and does not display any forum sponsor's, new posts or reply buttons or the submit button or the manage attachment buttons.Click on forum tools and it jump to a new page. I thought it may have been my computer but have checked other web sites and they all display every thing OK.
Had this problem earlier this week and it's happened again. I can't read the initial post under the thread, QUEENSLAND Dust extractor, mitre saws, and more... :?
All I can see is quick reply, but I can't even type anything in there. so far, well last I tried 130 people had looked at the thread - they've either had no problem, or like my might be confused.
