aaw shucks guys
i didnt even realise.
gees i must be getting old?
I'm sorry, I'm new at this - could someone please tell me what SWBMO means?
I know it has something to do with the missus but I can't figure it out.
Neil, yes, I'd like to bring her along if it's not to late...
Peter.
She Who Must Be Obeyed
Is wendy bringing her faithfull " ANDYman" is is he convinced we are all weird & twisted & best to stay away:D
She Who Must Be Obeyed
Of course - obvious really. A five letter acronym to replace a four letter word (wife), makes sense to me...
Peter.
No probs.
Well looks like 16-17 members and at least 3 better halves, depending from which side you are looking. There is plenty of food in case more show up.
I was dissappointed to find the pool had a slight tinge of green when I took the cover off today. Hit it with the shock, so should be fine by tomorrow :fingerscrossed:.
House looks fine to me, but my standards are pretty low  Workshop, yeh well, I spent 3 hours in the heat sweeping before I gave up, let me just say it is a working shed :fisch:. Definately covered shoes please.
Should be a great day :2tsup:
whats the address? bob
Neil,
You organised a great day - thankyou :2tsup: You also cook a pretty mean steak on the barbecue - there was heaps of smoke but the flavour was wonderful.
Cheers also for the deserts to all who contributed - the pavlova was to die for and the lemon cake was - well i had four pieces YUM.
Was good to catch up with some forumites from previous gtgs like Matt, Wendy, Ivan, Star and Soundman and to meet some new faces as well.
The gtg was well attended and people mostly behaved themselves only one complaining neighbour so a SUCCESS :D
Well the day was a blast.
First off was Weisyboy's slabbing demo. Sorry no photos, my camera was playing up and RuffyRustic's battery was flat :((
Then we had BBQ lunch. Yes that pav was amazing, tried to convince people it should be left in the fridge for me later, but with no luck. We did however leave the 2kg each of pasta and coleslaw salads in the fridge , guess what I'm eating for dinner for a while. Also some lovely pekan pies and cheeze cake, I'm still eating the left-overs of them :U.
By then my camera decided to work so we got a group shot outside with the slabs and shavings.

Then we finished off the slabbing, whilst one neighbour complained :~, but all the noisy stuff was near enough to over anyway (after only 2 hours total anyway).
Then down to the shed for some wood turning demos. Toolin Around showed us how to use a Skew (not my favourite chisel) after sharpening it for me :-.

and the spectators spilled out the door :p

Then I turned a quick handle for a scratch awl, but again no photo sorry.
Then it was over to Teejay to demo his Domino.

Then back to inside for drinks, show & tell (on items members had brought), a bit of swapping odds and ends, then more discussion on planes and other subjects.
What a day :2tsup:
That was a fantastic day out Mr Sensei - very much appreciated :2tsup:.
Thx Weiseboy for the slabbing demo. Heck of a simple rig that does a great job. Though the neighbor may have disagreed a wee bit :D
Fantastic to see so many familier faces and meet some new folks
Star: Just in case you've forgotten the link http://www.leevalley.com/wood/page.a...18&cat=1,42884

Thank you Weisyboy for bringing the chainsaw mill down to show, I'm adding one to my shopping list.
As a brand new member of this forum I knew absolutely not one of you and was pretty apprehensive but you made us feel welcome from the first minute.
We feel we have some new friends today, thanks again.
