Mick, my SWMBO went through a similar thing about 18 years ago, and while it was, to say the least, pretty traumatic at the time, all has turned out well now. I sincerely wish for the same result for your good lady, and peace of mind for yourself.

Good one Mick and Mrs Mick.

Hi Mick
I've just seen this thread...
My best wishes for a speedy recovery for your wife. Now go and sink a couple of beers (such advice from a shrink!). I think you have earned it.
Kind regards from Perth
Derek

I hope it all goes well for both of you.
Mick, thanks for the upgrade in info, hope the road to recovery is kind to you both and we are thinking of you both in GI.
Kind regards
Mike
Well, we're still not home. The head wound started leaking clear fluid last night (CSF, cerebro-spinal fluid). So I spoke to one of the nurses in the neuro ward who told me to bring SWMBO in to the emergency dept for a doc to look at it. Of course we were there for a while before a doc looked at it, they were worried and readmitted her. By the time she was in a bed in the ward it was 2am so I only got about 2.5 hrs sleep last night. So this morning they drained fluid from between her scalp and skull and applied a pressure bandage and said she'd have to stay in for a day or two. Then about an hour later the specialist came in, said it was all unneccesary (expalined all the whys and wherefores) and said she could go home. Of course by then she had had another shot of morphine so they couldn't actually let her leave. Anyway, we're out now and hope to be leaving early tommorrow. Just had about 4 hours sleep too. :)
Mick
Good news (I hope) . I wouldn't have the responsibility of a neurosurgeon for twice the fee but it's nice to have one around when he's needed! I hope it all turns out OK Mick. All the best to your missus, and "here here" to all the posts on this thread. Keep strong, mate, she's lucky to have a bloke like you.
Cheers,
Graeme
Hang in there mate. You'll both be home soon . :)
My thoughts are with you both.
All the best & keep in touch,
regards Sandman.
Be positive and think about the poor buggers who don't go home, glad she is not one of them for you and your families sake.
Thanks for the update Mick. Hang in there, & hope all continues to improve. We're all with you both.
