I cheated Cliff, on my own classical guitar repertoire I play 6 pieces from Terpsichore, so that was fairly easy, the one on the album is fairly easy.

I can't find a Guitar version in a hurry, this is a very good organ version.

Wrong one, I said Terpsichore, about 200 years earlier.
I have heard Toccata and Fugue played as a guitar duet but would be loath to attempt it.
Get out the Guitar and Banjo for this one.....
http://www.laserp.com/dueling_banjos.htm
I'll take option 3 Jethro.............
Spend years studying, doing all my AMEB exams and get Yee Haa'ed like that.
OK then, you got it wrong..... :rolleyes:Quote:

There is a finger picker here in Oz called Micheal Fix who can do it solo.
I saw it twice last year at the Yungaburra folk festival..... awesome.
Cliff, thanks for the reference to Sky. Have been looking for 'Dance of the Little fairies' for years. 5/4 time for those in the know and very catchy.
Has the question been answered?
Carry Pine
Soooo it is OK to have 113 pages of drivel here. It is not fair is it?
Got to agree espically when they are talking this musio stuff which is proberly more dribble to the un musioed than fridays lot, at least on fridays anyone can contribute and fit into the dribble if they are so inclined as long as they don't make too much sence
Thanks Cliff, trumpet back in case, but to keep a musical theme, the oboe is a modern version of what instrument??
And what where early oboes also known as.
No googling.
A didg?
I can vaguely recall an instrument called a faggott but I think that is some kind of bagpipe. No other comments please!!!
And what where early oboes also known as.
OK I'll go with HAUTBOY. Have to admit I looked it up in an encyclopedia.
My other post about the 'faggott' I was partly right. The 'fagott' is the old name for the bassoon. Oops that is sure to get me in trouble with at least one member of the forum.
Well is hautboy correct?
Think it's hautbois. Means 'high wood' doesn't it? See. There is a woodwork connection.
I actually gave Cliff the answer in my response to him, Hoboy, and Hautboy is also correct, so, give the man a banana (more expensive than a good cuban cigar at the moment).
I am rather surprised that 'Old Faggot' didn't respond:D :D :D
Now get off your Sackbut (another musical instrument) and throw in a question.
And the Crumhorn was the double reeded forunner to the oboe.
You only answered part of the question. Apparently the oboe was developed from an earlier instrument called the shawm. No Google ;)
I Wikied :p
OK I think it's my turn to ask a question and I'm changing the subject from ancient instruments. Which is the odd one out here and why: St Mary, St Lawrence, St Kilda, St Anne, St Francis.
Good luck
St Kilda wasn't a saint?
St KIlda is the only one who doesn't have decent footy team:confused:
Thanks CP, that Catholic upbringing just won't shake off I guess.
Ok Question is :-
Who producted the first recording that Lou Reed appeared on? and what was the full name of the band and their live performance?
I hope the silence does not indicate a lack of interest in Lou Reed.
Who?
Its obvious none of the IT crowd ever walked on the wild side.
OK I'll part answer my own question to give you a clue.
Andy Warhol was the producer. So what was the name of the live performance called.
Drop some acid and hope for a flash back Cliff.;) :D
Without google, I have got buckley's.
In the interest of a quick game, the answer is The Exploding Plastic Inevitable. I guess I can ask another.
OK for double bonus points.........
How many noble gasses are there?
Helium, neon, argon, krypton, xenon & radon. Guess that makes 6.
LOL:D
Bennylaird came from Miami, F.L.A.
Hitch-hiked his way across the USA
Plucked his eyebrows on the way
Shaved his legs and then he was a she
She says, Hey babe
Take a walk on the quiet side
Hey honey
Take a walk on the quiet side
Waldo came from out on the Island
In the backroom he was everybody's darlin'
But he never lost his head
Even when he was giving head
He says, Hey babe
Take a walk on the quiet side
I Said, Hey baby
Take a walk on the quiet side
And the coloured girls go
doo do doo do doo do do doo..
Little Gumby never once gave it away
Everybody had to pay and pay
A hustle here and a hustle there
New York City's the place where they say,
Hey babe, take a walk on the quiet side
I said, Hey Gumby
Take a walk on the quiet side
Sugar Plum Silent came and hit the streets
Lookin' for soul food and a place to eat
Went to the Apollo
You should've seen em go go go
They said, Hey Silent Take a walk on the quiet side
I Said, Hey babe
Take a walk on the quiet side
All right, huh
Wongo is just speeding away
Thought she was James Dean for a day
Then I guess she had to crash
Valium would have helped that bash
Said, Hey babe,
Take a walk on the quiet side
I said, Hey honey,
Take a walk on the quiet side
and the coloured girls say,
doo do doo do doo do do doo
Sorry if I've tarred anyone incorrectly with the IT brush.;)
doo do doo do doo do do doo:D :D :p
Three days and no question asked!!!!
Reminds me of Sylvester Stallone when he played Hamlet.
"To be ...or not to be........uhh What was the question?"
Here's a question I was aked the other day. It had me flummoxed for a while...
Are fireworks considered to be high explosives? Why or why not?
Depends who you talk to.
If you look at the energy potential of your average fireworks compared to TNT/Plastic Explosives etc you will find that fireworks have a fraction of the explosive power. So from that argument no.
