Forecast for next Sunday (at this stage):
Partly cloudy
20% chance of 0mm rain (which means that we may get a tiny shower)
Temp max 20°
http://www.bom.gov.au/nsw/forecasts/katoomba.shtml
I expect that will get refined as we move closer to Sunday, but the day looks good.

The forecast has been changing a bit as the week progresses. Now it's pretty much back to what I quoted a few days ago:
- Max temp 19°
- Partly cloudy
- Light winds
- 20% chance of 0mm rain (i.e. maybe a little drizzle, if that)
http://www.bom.gov.au/nsw/forecasts/katoomba.shtml
Now I reckon 19° is pretty pleasant (particularly in the shed), but you lowland pussies might want to bring a jacket. And remember, the weather can change very quickly up here, regardless of the forecast.
Gloves - check
Thermal underwear - check
Snow jacket - check
Hat - check
Vest - check
Yep I'm already to go

"the weather can change very quickly up here, regardless of the forecast."
I'm preparing for a temp range between 14° and 40°, fine, rain, sleet and snow . . .
Dont forget your chair and a mug for a cuppa, too!
And your swap, trade & sell items......
I'm going to make it and the bees have been busy and I have plenty of fresh honey.
Tony I will bring your drill and bits as well.
Ross
Darn it Ross going to miss out this year.
Well gents hope it holds off tomorrow seems weather has decided to be normal for Katoomba 10C to 17C with showers:roll:
Only 30% change of 0-1mm of rain...that's sweet and there's always the shed with it's new deck that's sheltered....
http://www.bom.gov.au/nsw/forecasts/katoomba.shtml
And there are some of you who say that I'm a dust nazi.
'Shmiller showed up this arvo, and insisted on showing me some saws, and how well they work. Deeply suspicious of being set up for an auction tomorrow, I agreed.
What I wasn't expecting was his insistence on using DE with it.

Looking foward to it. it's a shame Fletty can't make it, as I was looking foward to catching up with him, the office has been so quiet since he retired.
I reckon the weather right now is probably the way it will be tomorrow. Misty, occasional very fine precipitation, nothing worth worrying about in the excellent company of ~2 tonnes of wood-lovin' humanity. Apart from the permanent tarp over the deck, there's another tarp up (in the usual format) which is a continuation of the deck tarp.
Don't worry about it - will be coolish and quite pleasant (particularly in contrast to yesterday).
Good morning Guy's.
I'm getting ready to go to the Tasmanian Vintage Motorcycle Rally in Ross.
Looks like it should be a nice day down here.
But I still wish I had made it to the GTG.
Hope you all have a great day of it. :2tsup:
Cheers
Trev.
Uncle Al and I were looking through the pics from the Austraia day gtg last night. Plenty of pics of you the Indian and more. We'll miss you today trev. Hope you have a great day anf pics to share

Neither cold nor rain will stop a group of like minded souls converging on a shed . . . Another successful raid on Katoomba . . . I might have to have a T shirt made, "I survived the Katoomba GTG 2015" :q
Another Top Day for the Woodwork Forum in Katoomba...
The early mist didn't deter the woodworkers gathering to both chat and meet some old mates & a few new faces, which was great....
The numbers were up again on past attendances; the host & hostess were welcoming as usual [THANK YOU]....:2tsup:
The new deck [aka dance floor or wharf] withstood the weight test, though will now need cleaning....:C.....
The swap, buy and sell stall was well supplied with good trade..... .....
The demo's were very much appreciated, BUT NOT THE SAW DUST by the owner in his ever well kept shed.....:~.....
A special mention going to Paul [Bushmiller] for the handsaw auction & chisel auction, plus to Alan [Fletty] in his very generosity support even while he wasn't able to attend....:;.....
While I only traveled a half hour up the hill others came from the Northern Beaches, Sutherland Shire, all across the wider Sydney, central NSW and as far as southern Queensland and Victoria.... :2tsup:....WHAT A TOP EFFORT GENTS!!
I've attached some photos for those who couldn't make it and those who were thinking about, sorry, but you've missed a top day so please come to the next gathering....they're great fun....cheers, crowie
Great set of pics. We still travelling down the M7? Just passed blum as in blum hinges.

Well done Nick, you even managed to get the elusive Crowie!
Fletty. Staying at Uncle Al's tonight. Hope to have a couple of days work for my SIL. Likely passing your house on Thursday.

Sadly his little number has no cap iron or blade so my excuse for no restoration could lie there. There was a mention 'someone' may have soe spares 'somewhere'
http://images.tapatalk-cdn.com/15/11...03f8a05718.jpg
And from Paul was able to purchase. Ery reasonably some blades for my bow saw
http://images.tapatalk-cdn.com/15/11...ac51c90ebd.jpg
Pete .... there's a heap more of those blades. Bushmiller was hapoy to swap for some old wood and rusty steel you had ;)

Brett,
I meant to ask you about your table saw up in the corner. How does it compare to a larger saw etc. If you decide start another thread would love a link.
Great day, thanks to you both for your hospitality

Many thanks to Brett and Lola for your hospitality.
Good to catch up with many again as well as new ones.
Really nice to see all you folks, meeting some and re-meeting others
Thanks to Lola and Brett for having us all
Thanks to Tony for giving me a lift
Thanks (I think) to Paul for selling me a couple of saws
And thanks for showing us the workings of the retoother, Mr Hiroller! I may even post a video if I can if I can work out how to do it!
and a final thanks to the BOM for the lovely weather!
nailed his feet to the floor (sorry for the nail holes and blood, Brett)
Thanks again to Brett and Lola, another great day. Already looking forward to the next one...
Thanks Brett & Lola, it was great to put some faces to names, an enjoyable day.
"62', we're gunna have to move you to the smaller paddock http://d1r5wj36adg1sk.cloudfront.net...neaktongue.gif"
Behave Fletty, or you won't get your saw.
Well thank you all for coming, particularly those who travelled spectacular distances ('Shmiller, DaveTTC, although he was kinda passing through). Even rwbuild has a 2½ hour drive each way.
Without your participation they wouldn't be the great days that they are.
Excellent to see some new faces too - Pittwater Pete, Dirk Pittwater, 62woollybugger (still don't understand the name) I hope you find that meeting some faces changes your forum participation and enjoyment.
Lola and I feel very privileged that people make such large and regular efforts. There's quite a number of 6 timers now.
I am now the caretaker of a chair in a burgundy bag, and the second Berg chisel (did it get sold?).
Come on, fess up....
Brett, '62 was the year I was born & one of my other interests is fly fishing, this fly
