That really was a great weekend in Jerilderie.
Honestly folks you'd have to go some place very special to meet nicer people!.
I'm sure it will be on again next year.
If your the sort of person who enjoys woodworking and a relaxed family weekend it's the only place to be on Australia Day!. :2tsup:
Dave your a champion mate but as always the gold medal goes to Raechell.
She's always there making sure it all goes smoothly, and that all who attend find themselves in a food coma by mid-afternoon.
Thanks for a fantastic weekend.
Trevor.
Sounds like everyone had a great time - well done to Dave and Raechell for inviting folk up to their place, its great to see the aussie hospitality is alive and well.
Crowie and Uncle AL had cameras on the go and Trev took some pics of the Indian.
If you guys can post some pics on this thread would greatly appreciate as I just cannot post pics with any speed from my phone. For some reason it is taking upto an hour 'if' it loads at all.
Any other pics by anyone else who was there would be great too.
Heads up ... there will be another GTG next year ... details to come. I will endevour to PM all who have shown interest with the new thread details once it is up and running in the next month or two.

Thanks again to all who attended it was a great weekend!. :2tsup:
Cheers
Trev.
Well after a challenging start/drive we arrived at Dave's just after 9.30pm Saturday night, just a few hours later than expected....
Thank you Dave & Trev for rescuing the caravan & us from Narraderra; were the NRMA truck dropped us from Lockhart after almost running out of LPG....
I slept like a log on the Saturday night [exhausted], but did way too much talking on the Sunday to all the blokes who attended and while I enjoyed it all, I had a very disturbed night...
Monday proved better as I did less talking, plus had 2 "nanna naps" so I could stay up late to watch the Australia Day Firework which were very good down by the Jerilderie lake....
Dave & Raechell are first class country Australians with hospitality & generosity too boot....what top hosts!!
We left late morning on Tuesday coming home via West Wylong for a flatter run for towing and while having lunch there, the ever reliable Ian rang to confirm that my car was an AU2 LPG Falcon Auto without an auxiliary oil cooler; something his shop had fitted to dozens of AU2 in the past...all was now clear; as towing Ray's caravan was overheating the gearbox & in turn the engine was running hotter thus using heaps more LPG....after we returned the van to Woodstock & the car was like a rocket ship from there to Oberon...dropped Ray about 7.30-ish & I got home through the fog & rain about 9.30pm....home safe, very tired but relaxed after a top weekend.....
Thank you Dave again and all the folk who attended to make it great...
Thank you Ray for the offer to drive me to the gathering, much appreciated....Cheers, crowie..
PS - I have to sort/cull the 250 photos from the weekend BUT here are the ones from Narraderra servo & our Lockhart stopover....

I have struck a minor problem sorting the photos of the wonderful weekend. Basically, took too many, and taking a while to sort through them. Will post a full report in the next day or so.
As Crowie said so well, a fabulous weekend put on by lovely hosts, who even managed a magnificent fireworks display to top it all off.
Stand by,
Alan...

Great photos Crowie. There seems to be a few extra faces in your first lot that we don't have names for. Can you enlighten us?
I like "most" of your photo's Peter.
Except for those ones with that scruffy looking Guy with no sleeves.
Honestly you'd think he'd at least of had a shave before he got there.
And no shoes to boot!. :U
Some people just seem to take the tone down don't they.
Good onya mate.
Hope the trip home wasn't to eventful for you and Ray.
Cheers
Trev.
Yeah thats it. Thats how Trevor took it home ;)

He's one top bloke, indeed....:U......
Cheers, Peter
Thanks Peter
Good onya!
I thought the trip home might have been a long one.
Glad you and Ray got there without to much trouble.
Cheers
Trev.
P.S Good to see you put the photo of my girlfriend next to the bike "Nice Touch"
Just caught up with this thread.
As always good to see photos been posted.
On Monday, Alan turned up a bowl in super quick turn and presented as a gift to Dave's niece....:2tsup:....
Meanwhile, Dave gave Ray a lesson on the lathe using a 40-50 year old piece of Australian Cedar, which I had been given by the old bloke [Rex], I visit weekly with the local Neighbour Centre Visitor program....
And WOW, a piece of timber that looked suitable for firewood was "RED GOLD" ....:oo:.....
With a little instruction and direction from Dave & Alan, Ray produced a beautiful candle stick holder for his wife.......:2tsup:.....
[and I accidentally left both pieces of the timber with Dave , of well he'll make something very nice from it.... :D :; ...]
Cheers, Peter
Photos from Jerildrie and the trip home thru Narraderra, West Wylong, Grenfell and Cowra ............
Great pics Crowie. I'm sorry I missed you guys at Dave's but I couldn't stay until 10pm!
The trip home looked like fun too. Thank you for sharing our landscape with the wider woodie population.
I'm originally from the coast but I love living out here.
Craig
I have been flat out working since the GTG and this is the first chance I have had to get on the forum.
To Dave and Family, a very big thank you for putting up with us, your hospitality is tops.
A big thank you to Dave and Trevor for coming to our rescue.
Great photos Peter, also looking forward to Al's photos too.
Looking forward to the next one, its so much better meeting and yarning with a great bunch of blokes.
My wife Genevieve liked the candle stick holder which would not have been possible without Peter's wood and Dave's instruction.
Cant wait to build our house and my workshop then I can really get into all those delayed projects.
Will look at a GTG in the new year at our place at Woodstock.
Thank you all for a great weekend.
Uncle Al, have you had a chance to sort some of your pics yet? Would love to see some of yours too when ever you have a chance
Looks like you were never answered, you may need to repost the pic you meant.
I'd love to put my name down for that!
Did you have any more pics of the weekend Ray?

Just starting out in the hobby of wood turning. Enjoyed the conversation and spending time at Dave's and was very impressed with Trevor's Indian motor bike made out of recycled wood and pvc.

Thanx Crowie, Dave was actually the one who got me interested in wood turning.
And he came with Dave to our local woodturning club's meeting on Friday night to join the club (Murray Woodturners Inc.)
Welcome Travis; I suggest you start your WWF journey at Page 1 of Trevor's (Repliconics) 2/3 Scale Indian Motorcycle build and maybe we'll see you next month, depending on how quick you can read!

Still cleaning up from the weekend here. Two more lathes to go back into the cave. For those of you here ventured in you'd understand why. Just doing some spring cleaning as I go.

Is that part of a plastic cowling off one of the lathe's???
Super Glue & Talcum power has been suggested as a ready repairer......
Thanks for your lot of photos Ray....:2tsup:.....
I stand corrected too Dave, you were at least wearing your new thongs while wielding the chainsaw.....:B.......
Right on two cases crowie. Now with a bit of MDF and body filler I might be able to make a guard to go over that fan thingy on the end of my Nova ;)
