Good stuff Uncle.Traffic is much improved because Hazelbrook to Faulconbridge is all dual carriageway. Prolly still some other bottlenecks, but nowhere near as many.

As you can see, and this is a quote from the Disstonian Institute:
" The handle has more medals than a French General."
En garde!

The Bullaburra leg ain't too bad now... it's normally 60 instead of 40, but that depends on the type of roadworks they're doing at the time. (Started resurfacing today!)
Of course, even if it is 60 there are always the rubber-neckers who'll tootle along at 30 or less for the whole of the single lane section. :((

And I am now a Sydneyite/Sydney Sider/Sydnerian = Ratrace Member.
I did. I tried to hire some professionals to help me with a job but they said hitting the Comm Bank head office was just too big a risk. So back to the daily grind. :D
I'm really liking this job so far. Next week I go in to pick up the new car, phone and uniforms and then we all head to the pub for the afternoon to watch the Melbourne Cup. I'm assuming we will be doing this every week, but with a different sporting event obviously :U:doh:
:o Gee's I'd better pull the finger out and do some work on walking sticks if you're moving closer. I agree dumb move wish we had never moved back from Tamworth should have headed north across boarder instead or east to coast.:C
The up side is I can now look at some possible leccy type matters for you to play with :p
Gents, I won't be making it this time.
All well on the home front, just work is expecting me to work, not sit around semi comatose from a big day of driving and yacking.:~
Hello People
I don't know where this gathering is actually being held, could someone tell me the address of the get together
If I am jumping the gun with my request I apologise for my impatience and shall wait for the release date of the address.
Gerard
FenceFurniture; You had me down as a confirmed and up until just now can I say that I am confirmed at attending.
I will also bring my own lunch and fluids, although I suspect that I might be consuming most of it on the train. :U
Looking good:
20°
Partly cloudy. Slight (30%) chance of a shower, most likely in the evening. Light winds.
http://www.bom.gov.au/nsw/forecasts/katoomba.shtml
That's an improvement on the forecast 2 days ago where they were saying 16° and 40% chance of a shower during the arvo.
Now 16° is just fine by me, but all you Sydney girls would be a bit chilly. :D
Brett said it would be OK to bring along a saw or two. As some of you may know I have picked up a couple over the last few months. Most of these two are users and my intention is that they can be tried. These two are for curiosity's sake only:

A couple of saws are for sale: A couple from the 19th century, a couple of large tenon rip saws and a couple of other tenon saws, a Disston D5 crosscut and an Abbeydale rip (made by Tyzack):
Attachment 329519Attachment 329520Attachment 329521Attachment 329522
I also have a couple that I probably won't have time to finish:
Attachment 329523
Let me know if there is anything you are chasing (particular ppi etc) and I will try to bring it along. No obligation of course. I was getting these saws ready for Ebay, but it occured that even if nobody was in the market you might like to just look or even try a couple.
Talking such things, a couple have a little age on them. C Bishop No.1 (made by Disston) is 1865 - 1876 and the Disston No.8 early 1850s. Since I cleaned up the medallion, this is a little earlier (but not by much) than my previous estimate.
Oh we will be auctioning off a couple with no reserve starting at a dollar. Could be a couple of bargains there!
Regards
Paul
Chris, I'm sure he's referring to the other Sydney girls. I haven't had time to buy a skirt or anything.(edit: That's not entirely true. I bought three school tunics but not in my size ) Signed the lease today, enrolled the daughter at school then went for a swim at Dee Why beach. I think I'm going to like it here. :D
Just a little bit of clarification as to what is for sale as in my attempt to head off Brett's scurrilous comments, and in which endeavour I failed miserably, I may have misled a teeney weeney bit. The saws for sale start from pic number four onwards. They include:
Disston D-8s rip and crosscut
Disston D-23
Disston D-42s
Atkins No.65
Disston D5
Abbeydale
Simonds No.95 (modified  )

Paul
Hello Brett,
Will be able to make it; please put me down as a BYO.
Cheers,
Mark
20°
Sunny. No rain mentioned anytime. 20-25 kph winds.
http://www.bom.gov.au/nsw/forecasts/katoomba.shtml
Still bring a jacket - anything can happen up here.
Hi
Been waiting for a few thing to sort themselves out and for once it come out in my favor, so I will be seeing you all on Sunday.
We will be a BYO
Russell
Brett, I won't be there as I can't sit in a car for that length of time. My back looks like I have been laying in the sun for a week due to radiation burns.
Got the Thai/Chinese food this morning.
http://www.abc.net.au/news/2014-11-0...sydney/5859616
but it's on the other side of town, so if anything develops it won't be a problem here.
Edit: just checked RFS site and it has changed from "Out of control" to "Under control" in the last hour.
Did you get the storm??
Lots of thunder and some rain here.....
No, just wind, but a storm might be due later on.
As forecast, sunny and cool, and no wind atm.
No choppers around which probably indicates the fire is much less than it was.
Well the journey begins.
