I was going to point out to the Mexicans and dwellers in other sub-Antarctic states that not only are dressing gowns unnecessary in the habitable parts of Queensland (Toowoomba excepted), but that we had barely even heard of such outlandish attire. I am afraid you post has torpedoed that story. I just record the fact that I do not own a dressing gown, apart from a royal-blue silk one, which is really only suitable for wearing on second honeymoons in Phuket.
OMG I'm consorting with dressing gown wearers:o , I need a beer and a lay down.....fetch me my fluffy slippers...

Besides, what else can you wear when smoking a pipe, playing the violin and taking drugs?

Putting tracksuit and jumper on when all wet isn't a good option either.
I have two dressing gowns, one in the ensuite, which in summer I put on after a shower, quicker and easier than towelling off. The second I wear in winter for trips to the kitchen to make a pot of tea and then return to bed. Again quicker and easier than putting on trackies and sweater.
My choice of dressing gowns is simply based on laziness and utility, not cause I have poofter tendencies.
To make matters worse, in summer I use some Thai silk wraps for the trip to the kitchen from bedroom. Didn't used to bother but now we have neighbours and don't want to shock/offend them.
Again laziness, not style, is the reason. Bet youse $1000 I can get a wrap tied in place faster than youse can get trackie daks on. Incidentally this does not apply to Wongo, as he never takes his off.
Sorry Alex, but Sherlock most certainly did wear a dressing gown. He even had more than one. Unlike the deerstalker cap, which he never wore.Quote:
