I used about 7.5kg of nails ....bunnies had a 5kg one that I thought might be enough....it wasn't .....so I bought another one and used half of that ...oh and you'll need those kneepads ....lol.......as your nailing by hand, follow through with the punch as well, but be gentle or you will get splits .......especially at the joins, its not so bad when the timber is moist, but due to the heat we have had lately, most of the natural moisture evaporated ....leaving the timber slightly brittle ...some of it I pre-drilled with 3/16th drill bit to ease it in better near joins ....if you find this happening to much ....buy a pack of 65mm or 75mm decking nails and move further back from the join, the extra length of nail will give you the reach to get into the barer below without being to close to the edge.
