Hope all goes well Cliff. Fixing hearts is pretty routine today. I had the same experience and they replaced 4 of my arteries and out of hospital in a week.
Not that simple.... :o
He lives about 900kms away.

Thanks Baz, saw you on line last night on Skype but I spent about 3 hours on the phone & on Skype getting & spreading the news.
We were hoping it was blocked arteries 'cos that can be fixed.
I reckon he was scared that he had lung cancer 'cos he has been a smoker for about 60 years & gave up cold turkey 4 weeks ago... he knew something was wrong.
Hi Cliff,
My fingers have been crossed, as have many others on the forums. Hope your next lot of news is more good news.
Cheers
Wendy
G'day Cliff,
Just found this thread and am glad to hear he's on the mend. Our thoughts are with you and your family.
Not Cairns-Longreach you can't, unless you charter one & I don't have that kind of money.
He is going to have a stint put in tomorrow morning so Mum has caught a bus down; it is 1180Kms by road & she will be there before the plane lands in Longreach.

Sorry not to have seen this earlier, Cliff.
Glad things are heading in the right direction. All the best, mate.
Interesting what you said about him giving up smoking four weeks ago. Bet you wonder if he had some inkling something was not right, but did not want to bother anyone?
Just saw this Cliff. Thoughts are with you. Catching it in time seems to be the story. Best regards
Fingers still crossed mate! Send your dad our collective good wishes, eh?
Hope all turns out OK Cliff, best wishes from all down here.
Not out of the woods yet. :(
Today he is running a fever & that means he has an infection so they aren't going to do anything while he has that.
Also, docs have looked at X-rays & ultra-sounds & think that a stint may not be good enough.
They will do the dye in the blood treatment & decide tomorrow but there is now a good chance that he will have to be transfered to a different hospital to be cut open next week.
I had a talk to him on the phone & he is not in any hurry to be out of there yet.
Waiting waiting waiting......
I will be away from the computer til next week so you'll all have to hold your breath til then. :o
