So what did I learn about Melbourne this trip.
Traffic:
1.Taxi drivers in Sydney are excellent drivers
2.You change lane and then indicate but it is optional
3.Doing an U-turn in heavy traffic is very common
4.When the light is green means go, red means keep going
5.Streets are square and parallel (Is Triton from Melbourne??)
Woodworks:
1.Nice people
2. and WB smoke a lot
3.Fashionable and they wear silver hats (too cool for me)
4.WB has a lot hand tools
5.They do their No 1 in the backyard
But the best of all: Summer in Melbourne is bloody cold. 10 degree was it? I thought it was less then that.

Because we were entertaining someone from Sydney, we decided to act like a Sydneysider so we dressed down and used the lemon tree just like they do in Sydney.
All of us Victorians felt very uncomfortable and embarrassed acting in this manner but in the interests of diplomacy we made out that we always do these things so Wongo felt he was still in Sydney.
Craig, it isn't really a trick. I have perfected placing the BBQ near a bushy part of the garden so when the hotplate needs scraping (the honey and soy sauce on chickens makes a bit of a mess when they are cooking) you can use the Barbiemate to flick the crud into the bushes. Recycling is the theme.
Dan, your comments about taxi drivers are pretty much spot on. When I drove them on the weekends in the late 70's and eighties I kept your colleagues in regular employment whilst driving like a maniac. Used to do about 1000Km a weekend and I never had a stack or caused one but all the same we used to do a bit of low flying!
145K's around Batman avenue 10PM near the MCG on a Saturday night - $50 fine on the spot!!!! :o :o Rightfully the consequences today might be slightly more severe - nuthouse or watch house?
Anyway it was good to catch up with Wongo and as stated earlier I am glad everyone enjoyed themselves.
The big question is, who will our next victim be?
$400 and something fine and 12 months walking. A trip to court for dangerous speed if the copper can be bothered with the reams of paperwork. The result wouldn't be any better.
