Wood butcher said he was not sacked but resigned and I am sure WB is telling it as he knows it. And though as al has said " I know some of you hate me, but tough, I hate you too" then I think we should let al's sorry post (where he is trying to apoligise in his own way for his bad actions) remain un-hijacked and regardless of any individual feelings towards him give him the dignity and respect that we can, after his service as a mod, to resign gracefully and openly to the whole forum giving his reasons rather than to mearly slink away and allow unfounded rumours to speculate, as i am sure they would, as to why he is gone as a mod.

Good on you for getting up there and giving the mod job a go for awhile, and even though this has given a few the chance to take the p!ss for a bit underneath their glad it's not them, I think.
Hopefully after some time in self imposed exile we might see you back slapping wrists.
I clearly remember getting up one Sunday morning to an earfull and being sent off to a mate to apologise for perceived grog induced rudeness. Before getting a word out said mate apologised for himself and his behaviour. Damned if either of us ever found out what was said, much over rated this apologising stuff much easier to forget and move on I reckon.

Al, I already told you privately that I appreciate the work you have done, and that appreciation extends to all those who give up their time to spend many unpaid hours to benevolently guide the forums.
It is a thankless task reading daily all the posts, especially those that are not your special interest or the same questions/subjects that are posted at regular intervals or the incessant drivel that still prevails.
At least now you can concentrate on those posts that especially interest you and again enjoy your time on the board.

It would seem that perhaps the demon drink combined with life seemingly turning to poop have combined to "do Al in", just the same as they did a certain Doorstop many moons ago..... The main difference being that Al lasted an awful lot longer and did a lot more good!
