Right neck of the woods but it's not a built up area - no houses. It's in a National Park.
I found it but I cheated so I won't reveal.
How did you cheat? I reckon if you found it by scanning the coast with Google Earth then that's legit.
I reckon it's Tamboy, south of Forster.
Tamboy is in there. It's the Bombah Broadwater, part of Myall Lakes National Park. In the northern part of the broadwater where it narrows right down, you can make out the little white shop at the Legge's Beach caravan park on the western shore. There's a car ferry that will take you across to the other side. Mungo Brush is on the Eastern shore, not far from the beach - it's a popular camping spot. Too popular...
That's how I did it. I started a Moruya and went North. Some nice coast line up there.Quote:

Sure is and if the weather is kind I'll be sleeping on some of it tomorrow night :)Quote:

This may trick some...
hint: it is further north than Brisbane, Alice Springs and even Rockhampton
Good one. :2tsup:
Weipa? without looking at Google Earth.
Cheers
Barry
Groggy I know what it is but not where, thought we had one at Weipa.
Cheers
Barry
Yes we do have one near Weipa, and a few others. But where is this one and what is it called?
(The Weipa one is called Scherger by the way, if you enter it in google maps as a search it should find it for you.)
RAAF base at Exmouth WA?
OK found it, took a while for the penny to drop.As I knew what it was I will leave it for someone else. Groggy or Cliffe, have you been there?
Cheers
Barry
Close enough. It is RAAF Base Learmonth and is south of Exmouth. It would have confused most people as it is on the eastern side of a prominatory making it appear as if it was on the east coast when in fact it is on the western coast.
The fishing there is fantastic, the sharks are big enough to make you buy your fish instead though :oo:.
Edit: Baz, yes, many times. Usually sleeping in ditches and covered in dust. There is a place nearby called Milstream that is very picturesque though.
For a hint this is taken in QLD
Moogerah or Atkinson's Dam? Can't remember which, it's been a while.
I found it, but I dont know what its called.:C north east of Toowoomba
Perseverance Dam?
Yep. Excpet I don't know how old that photo is because at the moment there is no where near that much water in there:(
Where's this?
If it weren't for a few trees, I'd be able to see this place from my house.
Hmm
Anyone got a spare chainsaw
(Just kidding)
Actually, a bloke here did this. He cut a 20 foot wide path through the scrub and trees in the buffer zone, so he could see the ocean and place below. It's pretty hard to tell who did it, when you walk up the beach past the clearing and look directly through it right into the back of his house. Needless to say, he's not real popular around here. He's also quite stupid.
It's an island called 'Google Earth Placemark'
Got it half right Grunt.
It is definately an island
Low Island.
Thats the one Baz
Heres the coords for GE
