I'll wander up the road.
Joinery, does that include Paper joins, Spigot and mortice or Laminations?
I finally found the thread :U

Hey Fletty,
I've just re-joined the forum after an extended absence, just moved to the area (Belimbla Park), and am in the process of setting up my workshop again. It would be good to meet some other local woodies.
I am in Japan that week for work, but with a little luck I will be able to be there on the Sunday. Please keep me posted on the details.
Darryl
Hi Darryl, it would be great if you can make it, if not, drop me a line and visit the shed any time?
fletty
We wont be down now. After surprise visit by son & family yesterday for an overnight stay. He's decided no party for 40th.
I'll be there Alan. I'm looking forward to it!
Unfortunately
We're looking unlikely now[emoji853][emoji853]

Hey Alan,
count me in! please PM me your address again
Ian.
Thanks Ian, will do re PM
fletty
Fletty,
I havent read the whole thread but if you need these systems I can make them available
Dowelmax
Incra positioner
Incra box although this will need tablesaw and dado blades with right size arbor . i have 30 mm arbor dado blades if needed
Thanks for your kind offer, I've now got the iBox covered and will already have that set up on the saw bench for demos on the day but the Incra positioner would be very welcome if you can come with it and do the demo :B?
The logistics of the day look like;
Domino using workbench
then Gifkin using router table while Hegner fitted to workbench
Hegner finger joint demo
IBox on sawtable while router table set up for Incra positioner?
Sausage sandwiches, outdoor fire and outrageous yarns about woodworking and life while Leigh jig set up on workbench
Incra positioner demo on router table
Leigh jig demo at workbench
fletty
Fletty , I'll send a PM with my details .
PS just tried to send PM , system is saying your Inbox may be full.
But Incra positioner with router, router table , bits and dimensioned timber is no problem.
It may be interesting for anyone who hasn't used the Incra to do the demo, with me in the wings
providing the step by step instructions . I know when I was comtemplating the Incra for many years,it just
looked too complicated and finicky . But its actually quite straightforward and anyone can master it as the demo will show.
Chris Parks expressed an interest in the Dowelmax , which is also available if you wish, and quick to master so will take up very little time.
Its a deceptively simple tool . I don't use the domino hardly at all because of dowelmax.
.
More than happy to bring it to the GTG, fits in the car's glovebox, and no mains electricity needed to make it work :2tsup:
Econ and I have chatted and I'm really excited to to let everyone know that the gtg will now have demonstrations of;
Dowelmax
Domino
Gifkin dovetail
Hegner finger jointer
Trend mortise and tenon
Leigh D4R
Incra iBox
and Incra positioner
Even more importantly, the sausages will be coming from Tildsley's Butchery, the bread from Amigo Bakery and the beer from Illawarra Brewery (that's a hint Pat :B)
(a very happy) fletty :brava
Subtle, almost as subtle as this . . . Attachment 413154
big or little Domino?
Fletty has a little one :D
does anyone have a big one?
Domino that is!
Yep ill be there
Not sure where things sit for me atm. Exports at work have been shut down due to mouse overrun.
Yet to see if this means easy to get time off work or all hands on deck. Will find out Monday I hope

Dave, just take your cat and kittens to work for a couple of days. You won't have to feed them, and they will have heaps of fun and get plenty of exercise!
Alan...
I reckon they could use a minimum 100 cats out there and they wouldnt need to be fed dor 6 to 8 weeks

I recon that your 100 cats would struggle just to deal with the mouse birth rate. As a first estimate, 10,000 mice can produce around 50,000 little mice every 20 days, or roughly 2,500 per day.
At 10 mice per cat per day, your 100 cats would only be knocking over 1000 mice per day.
Wow that bad .... i reckon we have 100 000 on site easy

Wood fire Fletty or gas BBQ?
I need to burn some cautionary tales. I think others call them mistakes
The combined mistake rectifier and marshmallow toaster is finished and trialled...
Attachment 413262 Attachment 413265
I will be accepting wood work and spoon carving sub-optimal works in plain brown paper bags ready to be discreetly cremated on the day?
If I might, I'd like to come along too.
It would be interesting to see what's available should I ever have a work area with power... (DowelMax excepted I guess).
Iain
Asked at work a bit earlier (still here now) looks like time off should not be a problem at tjis stage

The Jointing System Get Together (JSGTG) is evolving nicely and there is still plenty of time and space for more people to come along. Basically, it is a group of mostly members of this forum meeting together to see, compare and potentially use the different jointing systems currently available on the Australian market. There is no sales push nor pressure as we are all users not sellers but this is a chance for you to see and try before you buy?
Date: starts 10am, Sunday 18th June, 2017
Location: fletty's shed, Camden, NSW (about 50km SW of Sydney CBD, details will be in the PM)
Facilities: shed, toilet, off street parking (if dry!), barbecue, fire pit, covered areas
Provided: sausage sandwiches
Confirmed Jointing systems to be demonstrated:
- Domino
- Trend mortise and tenon
- Gifkin dovetail jig
- Leigh D24R dovetail jig
- iBox finger jointer
- Hegner finger jointer
- Incra positioner, finger, dovetail and other joints ( thanks to econ)
- dowelmax dowel joints ( also thanks to econ)
- stepped mitre joint using Infinity set up jig
Other: everyone is welcome to bring along surplus tools and timber etc to sell on the day, completed or WIP works to show off and anything else that you might want to eat, drink and/or cook on the barbecue.
