This version has been tested to death and running on Reno for a long time waiting for the most stable version to come out (roughly 3 years) before putting it onto here. Wit over 32 million genuine hits a month on this forum we couldn't afford to have it go wrong.Quote:

There is still a lot to do to this upgrade and it will take some time as those of us who are doing it are pretty much under the hammer in our own businesses, so please be patient.
As Steven said: We have some sweet functionality in the pipeline, this will be rolled out over the next 2-3 months.

Looks great here so far. Using firefox windows 7. 32 bit. will check back later if any problems. congratulations on a job well done guys.:2tsup:
Pictures aren't displaying (only links) and when I go into settings to see if there is something I should switch on or off I get a lot of junk coming up that doesn't mean anything (to me the e-luditite). What do I need to do?

Looks alright on my iPad, but only through safari. Trying to access the forums through Tapatalk (my preferred way of looking at the forums) Is impossible, still getting locked out messages
How do I get my old screen back?
The colours man, the colours.........
Running Firefox and it all works fine.
OOOOOHHHH it is BRIGHT :oo:
Hurts my poor old eyes.
Cheers

Looks great. Much better than the old version (which frankly was not very appealing IMHO).
Anyway, bug report. The admins may have noticed already, but since I can't see a report about it..............
My options page in the UserCP gives a php error:
Also, the Profile page appears to have some minor CSS glitches in FF15 on W7. Overlapping content. Both should be easy enough to fix. :)Code:Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_CONSTANT_ENCAPSED_STRING in /home/woodwork/public_html/profile.php(2083) : eval()'d code(98) : eval()'d code on line 1
Warning: fetch_template() calls should be replaced by the vB_Template class. Template name: option in [path]/includes/functions.php on line 4734
ETA: Another thing is that people's avatars are not displaying in their posts. This may be related to the settings problem.
Another bug. I went to look for a post of mine, went in to Advanced Search, selected my name from the drop down menu, clicked on Search Now and no matches were found.
Just tested that one. Confirmed. I'll do some cross browser checking on the profile CSS stuff tonight.
I thought they were updating the web site...not sure I like the layout...suppose I'll get used to it...not sure i like the colours..greys may have been better in lieu of yellow?
mmm I think they also forgot to update by removing the display for the Canberra Timber & Working with Wood Show advertising which finished days ago ..
Thanks for all the great efforts behind the scenes everyone. When I went to w/w/w.woodwork/forum.com (I had to break that text with / or it just displayed the link Activity Stream... like follows ) was directed to the activity stream (Activity Stream - Woodwork Forums ) but I think it would be better to have it direct to the home page (www.woodworkforum.com/forum.php). It's a better page for newcomers to land upon.
It is always good to have a change. I like what I see.
Currently rebuilding the Search Engine Index which should fix the search problem.
However, with 137,445+ threads and over 1.436 million posts this could take from an hour to all day, it may also slow down the forums slightly.
Both Steven and I will have little computer time today as we have to work, but will do what we can when we can. Please be patient everything will be fioxed in good time..
To anyone who has a problem with bright colours of the new forum..... Check the colour calibration of your monitor as the colours are mostly pastel fauns and creams with white background in posts, etc. Lighter than the old default forum admittedly but but then again many, many people complained about the colours on that one as well and wanted it brighter.
We've gone for middle of the road colours this time. For now you need to get used to it or adjust your screen colours as it will be quite some time before there is another colour scheme offered.
Cheers - Neil :U
It is looking good, Neil, quite a modern looking website. thanks for all your hard work, would not have been easy
HEADS UP - FORUM OUTRAGE - SUNDAY
This Sunday 9th Sept there will be a forum outrage that may last from 6 to 8 hours
All that anger ... I thought it was a bit politically incorrect myself ...
Paul
Did I have a man look or something? Can't find it. :pi:
(also having trouble reading the red on top of the grey. And those pale icons in the "post icons" list. Must be older than I thought:doh: )
It's at the bottom of FORUMS HELP DESK
Don't like it as much either, especially the difference between the read and unread thread colours, they are too similar.
I don't mind the colour scheme, but do we have to have an ad right in the middle of the post..probably to the right of this in fact... I appreciate the need to fund the site but is this the best place for an ad? I've not seen this used in any other forum and it is really quite irritating..
hang on ...now its gone? ahhhh its because I wasn't logged in ..... forget I spoke.....
The same only different, I will get used to it.
Keep up the good work.
Regards
Are you referring to the bit I've circled?
Attachment 231391
If so, same colours, unread is bold and has a symbol at start whereas read is standard and no symbol, pretty easy for me to see differences
Sorry Acco, i still don't think there is enough difference. Neil tells me they will change though.
Thanks to a thread by pcmcgee i also think there can be only 1 utube vid in each post, so any post with multiple vids will be changed and vids lost?
I know there is a lot to do but it seems the search engine is down too, at least no matter what i search for i get "sorry no results"
All good from this end. Like the new format, and well done to the team - it appears to have been painless, but I'm sure it wasn't.
One thing - there doesn't seem to be an icon to click to go to the UCP. Or do I now just click the settings icon?
Fair enough.
As for the search engine, Neil says in the other thread
Market Place and some other forums will be going under their own tabs when we can sort them out. For now I have enabled it as a full forum section which can now be found directly beneath the Musical Instruments Section, which eventually will also be on a tab, along with Metal Work, Wooden Boats and Library.
The implementation of the tabs will serve to shorten the main page of the forum so less scrolling to do down the page and bring the main page back to pretty much all woodworking related.
:U
You can 'like' posts, and add little comments to peoples reputation from the tool-bar at the bottom of each post.
Not sure about that, seems a little too "face-bookish".
cheers
