Ah, makes a little more sense to this electrically challenged woodturner. Thanks.
G'day Ern,
Just had a chin wag with the neighbour over the fence, and give Ideal Electrical a go. :2tsup:
Thanks Waldo.
This is what I ended up ordering:
http://www.mcjing.com.au/searchresul...keyword=FPS-01
$50.
:2tsup: at a good price too I reckon.
Won't be industrial grade but then hopefully it won't get repeated use! Thanks for all the help and advice in this thread.
It'll do the job so :2tsup:
Hmm, turns out not to be a toggle switch. Power only flows when it's depressed. Thought I'd sorted this issue with McJing on the phone.
Bugger.
Rsser,
You could modify your machine circuit to accomodate the foot switch you have if it has a NC (normally closed contact) by placing a small control relay in the circuit where the latching contact is wired in series with the NC of the foot switch.
If this is an option for you I can draw up a simple circuit to show you.
Regards,
Keith.
Thanks for the offer Keith. But it's probably safer all round if I don't mess with electrical stuff.
Finally got it sorted.
Rang a number of places but theirs was like the McJing and needed wiring to boot.
Finally got one of these from PWS.
With a fat RE magnet on the back it sits on a range of surfaces. Only wrinkle is that one lead exits the back. Some cutting, drilling and terminal crimping will be needed.
BTW anyone who is looking for Moeller switches should go to the wholesalers; one of them is in Thomastown, VIC. They sell for a fat discount over RRP.
Did you purchase the "ProRouter Switch (standard)" or the "ProRouter Switch (deluxe model)"?
I am interested to purchase one of these, but would like to avoid the either of the leads exiting the back, as that would make it more difficult to mount.
The standard.
Yeah, rear exit would be OK if you're prepared to drill a plug sized hole in the mounting surface. Otherwise it's a pill
