all 28's are rare in this country.... thought hard tops seem to have survived better, and all green ones, don't know what it is but 95% of the 28's have been painted green. If you saw a soft top Graham at Bendigo it more than likely would have been us (Two tone green and wire wheels). There is the remains of a Graham in camperdown (So bad we left it there...), maybe your old stalwell car..

As for dodge, they never were involved in Graham paige, the Graham bros made Dodge truck under license till about 24-25, then sold the business back to dodge. With the money from that they purchase the paige car company. in 1930 they dropped the paige name. Post WW2 they became Kaiser-Fraser. The Co is still around, it owns Madison Square Gardens.

PS.. Tonto, my father had a MK 5 sedan when I was growing up, it is one of the reasons I own a jag now. The purchase list went Mk5, Riley RM, XJ6

I once had an uncle (by marriage), Alex McFarlane, who was an engineer (or could have been a coach builder) for Rolls Royce until his retirement. When he left they presented him with a beautiful Riley (it was real dark green) with number plates RR 001. He lived in Campbelltown NSW. He's been dead more than 20 years now with no heirs so I have no idea what happened to the car. He took my 1st wife and I for a very exhilarating run in it. Beautiful car. Whenever I see one (theres a couple running around down here) it brings back those memories.

Driver you have taste, someone in Melbourne was making a car that looked somewhat like that with modern V8 mechanicals, the body had had an update, but still looked great and period. Dont know how the project went though

Back again, that's interesting about Dodge involvement, I never really studied that. Without being sarcastic, when you own a Jag you step down into them, when you own a rolls you simply just step into them.......... sorry.

Yes you do step down into them, then settle down ready to DRIVE. as opposed to sitting on the car:D:D.

I know what you mean though, I regularly go from the Jag to the Graham and the difference takes you a while to get used to, though it is better than when I went from the Graham to the MG...:oo:

Bugatti of course..................... now that is a car.
Did you see, by some chance the programme on tele the other night,from overseas, 'TOP GEAR', where the have just produced this one off bugatti,Jerremy put it through its paces, unbelievable top speed of about 480 miles an hour, cost around 5 million or so, sorry I didn't tape it , it was excellent. There is a web site on the internet under 'bugatti' well worth a look, don't be in a hurry though it takes a long time to load up.

sounds like pur-sang... They got the engineering diagrams for the type 35 and reproduced them.. The whole car......

Have heard an original Type 35 driven in anger, that is a sound I will never forget...... I want one, I just don't want the maintenance or the brakes..

Another thread sounds good, its surprising how things get along, we are up to 25 threads here tonigh and its proved very interesting, I'm sure Sheddie won't be upset at all. Just briefly checked out your own web site, very interesting I will spend more time and go through it thoroughly. I;ll have to call it quits as I have a CT Scan early tomorrow followed later by more blood tests,then onto chemo next week,

That was 5 million pounds.:oo: and they made 6 of them. Wish i had one:D Jerremy said it was the best car ever made and will never be bettered.

Thats one of the best shows on telly (:( last show last night for the series :( ) In not a rev head, in fact cars bore me like woodturning dose, but i never miss Top Gear, never.

Best one was when the "power mountin climbers" raced Jerremry to the top of the mountin (took 2 hours) for 5 quid and double or nothing to go back down and the climber based jumped to victory:D

Ron, Bugatti Veyron it's called. 8000ccW16 with 4 turbos, 1007 hp, 4WD, nearly 2 tons and a top speed of 407km/h. I think...

I'd rather have a Koenigsegg myself. Just as mental engine wise (4000cc V8, supercharged and 8-900hp) in a car that weighs half as much with half the number of driven wheels. And still does nearly/over 400km/h.

(I'd be really happy with just another car for Mrs. Schtoo and the little fella really, but since we are hijacking AND dreaming all at once, why not go all the way? :D )

Heya Rona - nice ride you have there. I've always hankered to have a Silver Cloud in the shed, but a Shadow would be fab. That cranky Jeremy bloke off Top Gear drove one into a swimming pool.

We saw you lot several times, as my sister and BIL were travellinig about in our Kombi and we met up with them here and there. They were in the same motel at Port Arthur, and admired your vehicles. D'you remember seeing a tidy olive Kombi there? Good luck with the chemo mate - my Ma has come out the other side of 9 months for bowel concer - not all clear yet, but looking much better than it was. Hope to see you back in that Rolls over here mate - I'd love a drive!:wink:

Yes I do remember seeing the kombi, my mate from Numurkah in Victoria has and Orange one and it was that that drew mat attention to yours.
If I remember rightly at port Arthur you were parked right up the end past all the RR near the fence. They were a great camper in there day, A cousin drove one from WA rigt around Australia and back again to WA for a holiday, never missed a beat.

I remember the Borgward when they first came out, very stylish for there time, performed well were only a few around though, the four door car was more popular and possibly cheaper, they actaully made a diesel model at on stage, only lasted a short time though.
Thanks to lignum and schtoo for correcting the various parts of the Bugatti story, I actually missed the first five minutes which annoyed me.
