The Orange Room

I try to do that. Posts are still deleted and the thread is left to run in the open forum.

I move a thread I consider that no matter how much I delete I might as well just move it because it makes no sense.

Jokes I consider to be a little borderline I move into the orange room. I could delete them I s'pose.

If some of you want to stuff up a thread you know which buttons to push and do so.

This was the cause of my rant the other day.

We could always go back to the way we were with the orange room closed. HMMMMMM!? Your call.

I just wonder why some posts are sent and not others . Is SBS soccer game R rated ?
I also wish all members would visit .

I don't think it's our call. It's yours to decide . As they say only the Giver can take it away.:D

Whilst I have the greatest respect for you and your moderation of this board, and I hope my posts haven't given you much grief over the years, I disagree with your recent decisions to remove posts to the Orange Room because they are not political correct. Tonight another one was removed from view.

I believe that if it can't be said in open forum it should not be said and if it can't be seriously debated in open forum it shouldn't be debated at all. As such I will not join a closed forum.

If the members want to have an Orange Room, so be it. But then you might as well remove the " Nothing to do with Woodwork" forum, for the moment a serious discussion starts it gets moved.

IMO under the current system the board is boring and threads being removed is very frustrating and it is rapidly loosing my interest.

If they are regular offenders then maybe a better way would be to withdraw those specific members posting ability and return to the previous system.

If you are refferring to the one in the Triton forum: It was not moved but closed by the forum Moderator. Not I.

Basically the only ones I move are those that touch on the subjects which have always been taboo: Politics, sex and religion

Well the orange room must be working as the s**t slinging personal attacks in the open forums have, with minor exceptions, just about vanished.

If you find the open section boring go back to the orange room.

What has amazed is that after all the opening fanfare, the Orange Room has had very little titillating or obscene content. The overwhelmingly majority of posts concern topical issues, political or philosophical matters. I can't quite see the difference between Orange Room and the "nothing to do with WW" thread. 'Bad' words are still automatically deleted.

Excepting the few girlie pictures and some sexual jokes and innuendo, which I personally find puerile, its all pretty straight.

Whilst it is a personal choice, I'd suggest that the Orange non participating members have a look. If you don't like it, don't return. At least you will then know why you eschew the area.

My humble opinion from my humble soapbox. I don't get on my soapbox much but when I do, it means I feel pretty strongly about things.

I miss the stoushes on the board. They made for interesting and enlightening reading, not only the points of view being expressed, but because I also got to know the people posting their views better. The discussions were lively and quite often generated other useful and interesting offshoot threads. Now, the board seems to have lost a bit of it's pizzazz. The same members are here, reading, posting etc, but the spark doesn't seem to be as bright as it used to be. Does anyone else see this???:confused: OK so there's innuendo and banter - so what? Take away the innuendo and banter from a conversation outside of the forum, in person and it loses its spark too.

I appreciate and other Moderators' work and position. It's not a job I believe I could do half as well as you guys do it.

Personally, in my humble opinion, I'd say close the Open Slather forum. Like Echidna, I really don't need another password to add to the 30 I have to have already.
