If you are trapping feral cats and accidentally catch a domestic one in your trap AND you do not want to see it again the best approach is to drink lots of fluids until you are bursting, then wee on the trapped cat till it's soaked. You wont see it again after you open the trap door.
Just remember to rinse the wee off your trap or you won't get another cat to go in there. If you trap a cat and in the process of delivering it to the council ranger the panicking cat injures itself you stand a good chance of getting done for animal cruelty.
Cheers,
Geoff.
If the trap is legal and the cat injures itself how can you be done for animal cruelty?
A few years ago there was a feral cat making a nuisance of itself piddling all around the school where my wife worked. The shire ranger set a trap and early next morning my wife found this big angry cat in the trap. it had bashed it's head repeatedly in the cage and the skin was torn and bleeding. The ranger took it away before the kids arrived. My wife was quite upset with the experience.
I tried to find the article where I read of trappers responsibilities including getting charged with cruelty but can't find it now.
Cheers,
Geoff.
Slingshot + Jaffas, quiet and ammo is frangible.
I use dried clay balls to shoot them with. The clay breaks up and disolves.
