Glass plate piccys.

Have had a look at quite a few old trucks and the most likely is 1917 - 18 International. They made a weird truck with the strange shape "bonnet" in this particular year. It was two ton / four ton unit which this old jigger seems to be around. The AC Mack had a grille / air venting down each side and this seems to rule out that this is the model. If the picture is from overseas somewhere that may put a different slant on the idea.

I am unable to turn it up in any musuems so far.

Not sure of the make of truck, but would be interested in sharp copies of any car related photo's to add to my collection. I am putting together a website of all the period photos that my father has collected over the years of vintage and classic cars

I have to say the front look like a renault car of the early twenties, thought trucks arn't my thing.

As for the trucks going to alice springs, I have a mate on that run in a 1928 Graham 2 ton truck he has just completed restoring from scrap. He is driving all the way from Murray Bridge in SA.

Great stuff! These old windows into the early part of last century are fascinating. Liked the last shot of the truck. My guess is that it's a Renault (note the shape of the bonnet (or possibly a MORS). I note also that the poor s@d is, literally, in the lurch!

When you look at the piccy ya can just imagine the clan getting together for the Christmas feast.

200 degrees in the shade, mum slaving over a wood stove, but you had to wear your finest gear even if it ment you died.
