Funny you should mention that! I am in Diamond Creek and was reading on the Eltham Woodworking Club after my boss mentioned it to me (I work in Eltham). After reading their website I thought I should develop some more skills, or at least have a go before apply to join, but maybe not(?)

My advice:
Join a club for lots of friendly advice, suggestions on how to get off on the right foot
and importantly how to use the tools in the correct/safe manner. My club, (Northern
Woodturners) would not meed your needs but I feel Eltham could. Best of luck.
