Hi Texx,
A direct link to my dear old departed Dad, and here I am more than 40 years later perpetuating the prejudice.
We'd drive past a place with wool on the fence, where louse ridden sheep had been rubbing their itchy bums, and he'd mutter under his breath 'damn hobby farmers".He probably should have said "damn lazy farmers".
It's my opinion, and I could easily be wrong, that most legitimate full time cockies look down their noses at those "damn hobby farmers"
Regards,
Geoff.
all up we farm 950 acres of irrigated country mostly under pivots ( lucerne and cereal hay making ) , 1600 acres of grazing country being mowed by 150 breeder cows + thier calves and 400 odd fallow deer , and my house block is a 90acre of scrubby block , keeps 3 of us busy most of the year and some times the bosses wife is called upon for raking , truck driving or cattle work .i am not working at the moment cos the boss is trying to recover from last years floods on a very tight budget ( after a loss of over a 1/2 a million bucks worth of that years product ) hell of a hobby .

Best place for a posthole digger is in the back corner of the shed. Easy to hook up and easy to remove and stays dry. My old boss would have sacked me on the spot if I just unhitched and dropped it on the ground. Mind you, he did drive me out to the very back paddock to show me a ten foot long wheel track I had left with the tractor while air seeding and harrowing.
So! do you want a chopper ride or not?:D
