A 4 pence piece.
And I have one, found it on the gold fields.
Al
Yes, but what the hell was a 4d piece doing on the goldfields? Breeding maybe??
I dont know, I presume it was nicked.
The biggest denomination coin I have found was a QV 1/-, which was the equivelent of 1 weeks work back then.
Someone else have a go. My brain hurts. :(
Al
Al, this is an extremely dangerous condition. The only cure known to mankind is to immediately drink copious amounts of alcohol. Repeat until brain stops hurting or heart stops beating. Whichever is the sooner.Quote:

So is that the end of this thread?

Could it be true?
Why is it so?
Here's one - who said this:
"I place the child in the bottle. The child cannot escape. Why is it so?"
Well I guess it wasn't Prof J S Miller
True. It was Paul Dengate, a lecturer in an Audio Engineering course I did.
No way could I have found that on Google :DQuote:

Whose turn was it?
Here's a computer geek question.
What significant anniversary in the history of computing occurred last week?
No takers eh?
Go here for the answer:

Sorry Craig, been doing my best for the last 10 years to forget all about IBM mainframes
BTW how did you find a browser to run on a 3270 terminal ;)
It's all text :)
Another question then. An easy one this time.
We use it all the time but what actually is a Google ?
It's actually a googol, and it's ten to the power of one hundred - named by the 9-year-old (I think) daughter of a mathematician, and meaning "bigger than anything I can imagine." A googolplex is 10 to the power of googol.
What did the two missiles turn into when the infinite improbability drive was activated?
As I recall it was a bowl of petunias and a sperm whale, but they didn't last long.....
but that was a few pangalacticgargleblasters ago...
Trillion.
So how did Arthur's girlfriend Fenchurch get her name?
You wouldn't believe how bored you can get in the ticket queue at Fenchurch St Station...
What is the current speed record for a train, and which train was it?
My guess would be that it was one of those maglev jobbies
The one that does over 400 clicks? Don't know if I'd care to be in a train in China travelling at that speed.

So has the popularity of the Quiz Time thread dropped off?
It would seem so. Why don't you kick it off again? :)
OK. What was Roy & HG's first regular Television appearance?
I was going to say Club Buggery but they had a panel show before that didn't they? Buggered if I remember what it was called though.
Hint: it wasn't their own show...
The Channel 9 Show?
Hint: Roy & HG came from Triple J, part of the ABC network. Their first commercial show was The Dream on Channel 7 during the 2000 Olympics. The host of the show in question is still an ABC presenter.
The only others I've heard of are This Sporting Life (Radio) and something to do with Norwich?
Live and Sweaty ?
The presenter of the show currently has an interview show on ABC. He started in radio. Was on 2MMM for ages.
O.K. Andrew Denton. But if it wasn't Live and Sweaty it must have been Blah Blah Blah or The Money or the Gun (forgot about that one)
Blah Blah Blah it was. They appeared as a couple of silhouettes (must've been stage shy) and basically did a 'This Sporting Life' segment.
Damn, not even close!
OK how about this one....
According to popular belief who was Charles Dickens character Fagin based on?
HH
Actually, it's my go
However, I'll generously let your question stand. :p
It was Isaac Somebody or other transported to Tasmania inthe 1830's or so
Sorry Craig wasn't aware there were turns....happy to be educated in the quiz etiquette.
You're correct on the first name.... Bonus for the name of the other fictional book based on his life...Am I jumping the queue again?
HH
Yes :)Quote:

Right. To go back to The Boys, what league team did Roy used to play for ?
