You read the instructions? I think that is a code violation! :D

Definite code violation, :banhim:, or make him an administrator. I hear there's a job going, great pay and benefits.
Why is it when I post a repiy to a thread and try to put a smilie in the post I get a imediiate freeze up in the computer,
and the caption at the bottom of the posting says woodwork Forum not responding go to web page, now this is a pain in you know where ,when you have written a longish article and included pics as well, I am wondering if any other member is having the same problem, this is not happening on other forums that i visit.

Does anyone else have their router monitor the websites being visited.
I now seem to get lots of requests to googlesyndication.com when I'm only viewing these forums.
Now I know it could be a virus checker, skype or java or something but maybe someone else can monitor theirs to save time chasing it down.
No google toolbar installed, no google desktop or maps installed.
Or maybe the admins can let us know if the new version is doing it or not.
Time to start running netstat -b to see whats going where...
OK, Just thinking about __Fly__'s post:
If you have a dispute with your internet service provider, the company you PAY to provide your internet service over how much you downloaded in the month, and you ask them to tell you what sites you have visited and the volume that you downloaded from each site, they cannot tell you.
Under the laws governing provision of internet services, this information is not available to the holder of the service and their customer service consultants. I am sure that the police can access this information from your internet service provider. but you cant under law.
Yet Google and others can just slip a cookie onto your computer and record all the sites you visit and target advertising based on what they perceive to be your interests based on the sites you visit.
Is it just me, or is there something wrong with that?
Doug
Ta DJ,
Hey I also set my editor to simple text and I can reply in firefox again.
Won't be able to attach but at least I can reply now.
I've FLICKED OFF (thats f l i c k e d before someone complains) the skim and we'll see if that changes anything. I don't mind having it on but my router was hitting it 6 or 7 times for every single hit on the forums. I just wanted to know where it was coming from
Ta again DJ

My 2c. Depends on how paranoid you are. I think cookies are relatively innocuous and actually assist with browsing. Remember, you do have the choice to not accept cookies at all. In the U.K. you have to, by law, display some sort of warning that the website uses cookies. Regardless of cookies or not, your visit to a website is logged regardless. Your IP address, your location, your browser etc, etc ,etc are collected and collated using some sort of stats counter. Just ask the admin here what sort of information is collected :D
So, if you're ultra-paranoid about all this, head onto the TOR Project (<- click) and put your mind to rest. Ultimately your information can only be compromised by what information you, yourself enter. Your online self is the same as your actual self, conduct yourself wisely.
I think we all need to get back on topic or the issues that need fixing will be lost in other discussions.
any ideas why my my curser problem occurs only on the fist try to lodge a reply/new post etc etc
clicking back and then going forward fixe's it
not even going to worry about why IE doesnt work with WWF
problem solved with curser...updated firefox and all seems ok...sofar
ie can wait I don't use it anyway
Is anyone else still having problems with the slide show viewer? Still not working for me.
Yup, happened to me last night but not from the main panel on the right. The freeze occurred when I clicked on the 'more' link and tried to insert a smiley from there.
I have a minor issue with tapatalk, I can't see the Metalwork forum listed?
Otherwise, all good.
Regards
Ray
Ray, I'll mention that to the Admins. It looks like because it is in the top menu it drops off the forum list.
I am still being logged out after a short period of inactivity, even after clearing the cache as suggested
First happened yeterday a.m. and I gave up trying around midday. This is my second attempt to reply to this thread this morning
Just noticed that links are encroaching into the "thread information" line. Not sure if that's supposed to happen. IE8.
P.S. It doesn't happen all the time, I know this doesn't help you find the cause .

Just a note to anyone having issues with how the forum looks on their computers, it's a big help to the techie people if you attach a screenshot. They can't see what your seeing, and a picture is worth a thousand words :D.
is everybody who is having problems updated their web browser?....it has fixed my little problem
it may just fix yours?
I use firefox and updated to latest version...fixed my problem
I have IE 6.0.2900.2180 and the screen looks like this
dont know if a update will fix that or not but I am reluctant to upgrade IE for the following reasons..i dont use it, and secondly they always change your settings when ever you update anything..or so it seemd
and just to prove a point...i updated Internet Explorer...and i'm in:yippy:
but its stll slower than firefox
but why couldnt I place the curser after the smilie to add the above line?..i had to add the line and then move the smilie back
Hello, is there any setting that will allow the images to be displayed on my pages as large thumbnails, rather than as a link ?
All the images are shown in my browser as thumbnails, not links. I am using Firefox 15.0.1, the latest version
Couldn't submit a link to an image from my/our blog, either by ticking the box or not to allow image to be stored and managed from this server. So had to revert to uploading one from computer.
Thanks Paul, got it, and now the images are showing
I sent a PM and there was the option ... "restore auto-saved content"
I also accidentally did a blog post today, and the choices were "Post, ... something :) , save as a draft"
Just thought it was interesting that there is not a uniformity to the options across the aspects of the posting options ...
Any comment (admins)?
Thanks,
Paul
If the basis of my post is correct this will not work. I have tried 3 times this morning to respond to a thread. Each time when I submit reply the message is that my computer cannot connect to the forum. When I click the arrow in the top left hand corner it goes back to the forum. The text of the message is gone but the title remains.
What am I doing wrong?
Whitewood
I did not use Ispell to check this post. Could that be the problem.
Hi. Small tapatalk glitch. When reading the last 50 unread posts, & u get to the bottom of the last 50 unread posts, u can normally pull the screen down to load the next 50 unread posts. When u do this since the update u don't get a total of 100 unread posts, but 50 unread and the same 50 again!
Does that make sense? The voices in my head say it does!
