So what relevance does a seven litre engine block, and a car company badge, which as far as I can tell are the only actual "Ford" or "Holden" components in the car, have to the actual brand?
My Suzuki 4WD has an alloy twin-cam head, alloy block and wet sleeves out of a hard alloy. Don't get me started on the electronics. It's considered to be a bit of a dinosaur technologically, and it's only 20 years younger than the basic Falcadore.
The Seppos haven't got to where Citroen was in 1967 yet.
Bizarre.

They wont let me at bathurst or Albert Park, but I am trying to convince the minister of finance to fund targa:D:D:DQuote:

Have raced it before, we hold a regular competition weekend on Melbourne cup weekend in Camperdown (Near colac). Though it was canceled last year due to political presure, and this year the same people are begging us to come back (They realised how much cash we actually spent in their little town), though I think it wont be on again this year (Its to late to organise). The organisors are working on next year thougand hopefully my health will let me run again.
Just cause she is old doesnt mean she is slow, she will still exceed the speed limit on the freeway, and has caused a number of people to double check their speedo when I have overtaken them:D:D.
One of these days I will get all those parts I have collected together and build a race special using period parts, that will be scary, ive seem what a hot period A model ford can do.

Whilst I enjoy watching motor racing and enjoy driving, I really do not understand the whole Ford Vs Holden debate. I thought it was limited to the V8 Supercar Series, but now I read about Ford's making people feel sick  and typing the word "Holden" gives folks willies! The arguments seem to be "Ford is best" or "Holden is best" without much back up.
So.........
What makes your preferred brand of motor vehicle 'best'?
Price? Fuel Consumption? Factory standards? Optional extras? Emission levels? How fast they go around Mt Panorama? Do you just find a blue oval more aesthetically pleasing than a red lion?
And is this argument limited to Commodore Vs Falcon (and HSV V FPR), or would black1 argue with Mr woodmachinist on the merits of the Focus over the Astra? Courier over Rodeo? Escape over ummm....Jackaroo?? (yes I know these are made by other manufacturers, but does that affect the argument?)
Don't make me start a poll.......

I must admit the ford is my preference, but we are talking way different price brackets here.
Though I think it is tribal, it was the same when I went to school, but when I went it was Ford, Holden, or Chrysler (Damn I am showing my age) and it was usually based on what your father drove.

was how it was when I was a littl'un. Always ways was a "Holden man" and I have owned a Ford, it wasn't a bad car at all, I had it nearly rebuilt , cam e home from a trip to find She Whose Name It Was In had sold the thing and bought a poxy Corrolla that had been rolled and quick-fixed. If I EVER get that bastard of a fuccin' car salescreep alone I shall neuter him! Best car I ever owned? HT Monaro, 327 and the works.... Worst car I ever owned? LC XU1.... what a heap of crap!
Nowadays, if you can find many GENUINE Frod or Holden parts on a v8 "super"car then I will take my hat off to you so I figure it doesn't matter much on the track. I would rather watch speedweek on SBS where they have a decent selection of racing from , in many classes, REAL motor vehicles.,
Hey, what about a poll??
1; Ford
2: Holden
3: Graham Paige

Actually I just remembered a car I met recently. LJ Torana, Godzilla motor, Supra gearbox, Ford 9" diff, Conformadore discs ..... proper hybrid, current version of a "Special" almost, beautifully built.... I loved the thing, Ford bits, Holden bits, tojo bits et al.....
I do believe, even though I'm a HOLDEN MAN, that if you get sick or upset at the thought of having either Ford or Holden thrust upon you in ANY form then you are either, stupid, intellectually challenged or a complete farckin idiot!..... or even all three
Who cares... Ford Holden... both the same, good cars for reasonable money.
I like Ford's the most, still would like to own a nice Holden... but gimme a euro any day as theres no going back.
As to the Ford payout's...
