Ahh, 'tis always good to have a long term plan:cool: especially at your age :D:D:D :;
Congrats on your impending retirement and moving into full-time bowl bashing :2tsup:
Cheers,
Dave
Like your bowls you have a warped sense of humour Grahame :U:2tsup: (sorry if I have miss-spelled your name to many Greyhams, Grehames, Grames>)
The count down begins
The things you have to look forward to
The longest list of around the house jobs from SWMBO
Those unfinished projects
The freinds who would like it down now
Hey wheelin how goes it???
I thought I may have seen you and Sue at the Craft expo this weekend just past We had a good crowd and our Charity tin is nice and fat
:D:Dby the way the spelling of my name is the old english way "Graham"
there are more ways of spelling this name than any other I can think of
If I look at SWMBO's list I would probably stay at work(ha ha ha)

so BB...wat'cha planning on doing when retired? Any hobby in mind? :;:D:D:D
How many blanks ya got to play with BB?:p
Hope you have a retirement tool fund hidden away.
Well done on your soon to be retirement BB :2tsup:
I do not know how you will handle it. Late start early lunch and nothing to do except turn all day what a bummer:U
Good luck with your retirement bb. Hope you don't find it too boring.:)
I'm in Northern Sydney (on the way out of Syd on the F3) and have a 6x4 trailer that is sitting in my yard that seems to get lent out more than I use it. Would cost a couple of bowl blanks to borrow for a week or so :2tsup:
Lemme know what you think.
Cheers,
Dave
Thanks for that Dave ..when I get the towbar fitted I will get in touch don't expect it to be this side of easter
regards
Graham
Hi Graham,
No worries... it's not going anywhere (unless someone else borrows the thing )
Let me know whenever you want.
Cheers,
Dave
Well done, yeah do the count down its fun. :2tsup: When your fully done with work and have got some time up your sleeve give me a pm. We can get together with Ray etc for a bit of woody stuff and natter plus what ever else turns up :U
Graham, exactly on the day from off today 9 years ago, I was counting down from 9 days to zero with everyday a bigger smile on my face.
The 23th of march I said goodbye to everyone, jumpt in my car, and drove home like crazy. The most beautiful day of my (working) live. Well deserved after 46 years.
Now I'm living in the 7th sky, and everyday is a holiday
The same happiness is waiting for you.
Cheers :cheers2:

Great one BB :2tsup:
9 days wow
Gees and I thought that was the sun rising but was just your grin
I'll be following in your footsteps in October or November (haven't done the sums fully yet!) Then I'll have to borrow Dave's trailer as well
:D:D:D:D
the count continues lined up about 3 weeks of projects that should take care of the first flush of glee

How long is that list of SWMBO's list now - mine's already on to the second page and I keep deleting stuff!
:o 54 and signing off Nick WOW
All these young fellows retiring no wonder Australia needs workers
6 Graham does that include the weekend or is it pure days at the grind.:U
I just realised that this will be the last weekend that I have to think about getting up on Monday morning:no:..........and ain't that a nice thought:U:U

Yeah, it sounds good but without regular employment you may miss things like work friendships, a sense of purpose and the time structuring that 9 to 5 brings.
I reckon you work harder in retirement than you do in full time work. To add insult to injury, everyone thinks you have nothing to do. :D
Cheers,
Jim
Yep I know people who struggled a bit. I am blessed, took to retirement like a duck to water. Highly recomend it to anyone in a position to do it comfortably, gets down to priorities and what you want out of your remaining years. My wife continues to work 3 days a week because she enjoys the company etc. I have a small job that takes just 1 1/2 hours a day 3 or 4 times a week, just for toys.:U Not a whole lot of positives to getting old (but the alternative sucks  ) so make the most of those there are.
Yeah, I do a bit of part time uni teaching and love it. Keeps the mind sharp, provides a focus for structuring time during the week and keeps me in touch with good young minds.
Also give the occasional woodturning lesson which forces me to articulate methods that are part of tacit knowledge and analyse the causes of mistakes among students (as well as mine!).
Noticed the update on the name... How is retirement going???
Cheers,
Dave
I'd say thats the last we'll see of Graham for a while :; shed shed and more shed or he's recovering from his big send off party. Mrs BB has him head down tail up working his butt off.
Whats that I read Cougar escapes owner.....say's its been over worked.
Congrats Graham enjoy it.:2tsup::2tsup:
Only just noticed this post Ray. I wouldn't want to wish anything away... I have 2 1/2 young kids at the moment, the oldest being 5 and the youngest being -4 months :2tsup: Loving life at the moment (though I may re-evaluate in 4-or-so months time :- ). You really do need to stop and smell the roses once in a while and realise how good things are :2tsup:
Having said that, having the time in retirement to do stuff would be nice, though of course these are pros and cons to everything
Cheers,
Dave
