White Powder on Fibro Wall

Hi All,

Might sound like a really dumb question, but in my laundry, which is clad with old fibro, where a section of paint was peeling a fine white powder had collected / built up. Would this just be detergent and dust that has collected or could the fibro sheet be breaking down? I am probably just being paranoid, but I am unsure if fibro can break down in this fashion and potentially release asbestos.

Any thoughts would be appreciated.
