Bathroom Tiling over old Tiles

Hi,

I was hoping to lay new bathroom tiles over the old ones to avoid the hassle of ripping them up.

Would anyone recommend that I waterproof over the old tiles before laying the new ones down. Or should I just rely on what ever is under the current tiles, even though they are prob 30 years old.

Any advice is appreciated.
