Attach trellis (timber) to Structural Steel?

Hi...Maiden in need of help!!!
I have an elevated house.....like a beach shack up on stilts. The "stilts" are square column steel . I want to attach some trellis to run between the uprights. How do I attach the trellis to the steel without compromising the steel foundations.?
It is only needing to hold up trellis and a climber plant to be grown on the trellis.
Can anyone suggest?
(I would have thought this would be relatively simple but no one seems to be able to give a confident answer.)
