Roof repointing - Advice needed

All, I am having a pergola installed at the moment and the contractor had to disturb the corner hip tiles (hip ridge) about 5 tiles on each corner. I have a mate coming round on Tuesday to help in bedding and re-pointing - never done it before but seems straight forward?

PROBLEM IS Adelaide is expecting rain on Monday....will my roof leak if the capping is just placed on there with some gaps in the bedding until I get to it or should I just get someone out to re do the few that need doing?

To use a tradie what would be a rough estimate to repoint 5 tiles on each corner as opposed to doing it myself?? If my roof may leak I'll have no option but to use a tradie ASAP.
