carpet meets tiles

hi guys

what kind of strip do i use where the carpet meets tiles?
Im guessing you dont use the strip of timber with tacks all through it across a doorway or walkway... so how do i anchor the carpet at the join?

i have some gold strips that go between tiles but it has no hooks or tacks in it to anchor the carpet to??
