Deck over old filled in pool

Hi Guys:

just looking at a house on the weekend with a view to purchase. The real estate guy pointed out there is a filled in concrete pool in the yard. Had a look and sure enough can see the outline of the pool just behind the house. Having a look some more and a deck has built over part of the pool (about 8 feet of the ground), with two posts going into the old pool. One post was on a bit of a lean and looked a bit dodgey and I couldn't see any bracing?
I fear the soil in the pool is settling? or maybe shifting. And I'm not even sure if someone has punched holes in the bottom of it?

If its the soil settling might have to dig out all the soil and compact it in better? (its a fairly big pool). Anyone else struck this sort of setup before?
