PALLETS - who owns em?

Hey

Who owns Pallets once they have been delivered to a property?

Looking at doing a shed/workshop using a design that uses used ones as the foundations.

Will need a few so is it okay to drop by a building site with a carton of liquid gold and ask can I take some away? They do have names on them but unlike a milk crate I haven't seen any that say they "remain the property of".

Any thoughts?
