what brand of energy saving lights to get/stay away from?

i rememebr hearing a year or 2 or more ago on a current affair about some sort of these energy saving flourescent globes that are useless and to kepe away from and some that are good and i cant remember what is what.
what is a good brand to get and what is one to stay away from??
