Join-Line problem with slightly uneven Cornices... (any "Pro"-trick solutions?)

Dear Gents,

I put some Cornices up in the Bathroom yesterday, and at each corner of the room I was quite particular about lining up the bottom of the Wall-leg of each piece with the bottom of the Wall-leg of the other piece running into the same corner. The only problem is, the Ceiling and the Walls (especially the Walls...) are not perfectly flat...

As a result, in one particular corner, the thickness of the Cornice Cement between the Ceiling and the Cornice ended up thicker above one piece running into the corner, than it was above the other. Not by much - only a millimetre or so - but it was enough to cause problems with the "Join Line" between the two pieces. It doesn't seem like much of a problem, but since I've had this happen to me before, I thought I'd take some photos this time, and ask whether there is some sort of "Pro-trick" that Plasterers or DIY-Legends use to make the things look spot-on again the next day...

I'm sure many of you have come up against the same problem. This first photo sort-of shows the situation I am referring to; the underside of the Ceiling-Leg of the Cornice piece on the left is sitting ever-so-slightly lower than that of the Cornice piece on the right - thanks to slightly thicker Cornice Cement above it:

(By the way, the general messiness of the Ceiling and Wall above and below the Cornices in the photo is due to the fact that they are 75mm replacements for the previous 90mm Cornices that were removed.)

Now, the problem is, if I simply use the left-hand Cornice as a sort of "infill-template" by which to shape some bogging-plaster that will run across to the right until it hits the right-hand Cornice, the resulting "Join Line" will not end-up running up to the corner formed by the intersection of the very-top of the two pieces (I hope you know what I mean...:() Or (to put it another way), if the Join Line curved directly up to the "projected" corner between the Ceiling-Legs of the two pieces, it would have to be "stepped", with the plaster on the right of the Line having to be slightly recessed compared to the plaster to the left of the line... (Someone knows what I mean - surely...:doh:)

Any tricks or ideas anyone?...:?
