Logical AND in search - How to?

Hi all,
Wondering if any members (or mods) can tell me if a logical AND is possible in a 'search'?
I have tried +, &, 'and', 'AND'; all with no success. Unless I actually want it, I find the default OR functionality returns far too many results.
A random example: Searching with carbatec thicknesser would return with anything sold by carbatec, as well as thicknessers of any other brand. You have to troll through hundreds of hits to find what you are actually searching for - only carbatec thicknessers. Actually, this isn't the best example, since you could use quotes to constrain the results, but hopefully you get the picture anyway

Try "carbatec thicknesser" (with the double quotes) in the search box, it returns 33 results (including this thread!)

Also if you're looking at a specific thicknesser from Carbatec, you may have more luck searching for that specific model

Thanks guys, but I'm not actually looking for a carbatec thicknesser (I already have a CTJ 680:2tsup:).

As mentioned, it was a less than perfect (due to quotes providing a solution) random example. Thanks for the quick replies, though.

So, anyone know how, or if actully possible, to do an AND?

As far as I can tell, it's not possible to use operands in a search.

I've tried long enough myself without any success and have just plain given up. :C

As far as I know even Google search doesn't allow the use of AND, but I could be wrong.

If you want more search options you can of course use Google search and limit it to woodworkforums.com (or any other site) by putting that in the site or domain name box. You can also type that direct in to your search by putting site:xxx at the end. I often do this if I only want hits from Australia, eg Holden site:au

Skew, that was the stage I was at when I started this thread :) I thought I'd better ask, just in case I was missing something silly.

BS and Groggy - using the site specificity of a google search is a great idea, but it seems a bit temperamental...

I tried "logical and in search" site:woodworkforums.com in google expecting to get this thread but

Perhaps this thread is just too young for google to list it? Still, I think Fred's on the money with the site:xxx.com suggestion. Thanks mate.

Try this in the search box:

"carbatec thicknesser" site:www.woodworkforums.com.au

then try

"carbatec" & "thicknesser" site:www.woodworkforums.com.au

Note the use and positioning of the quotes and ampersand. Does that help?

You can build some pretty specific searches this way. I did searches for "carbatec thicknesser warranty" and "carbatec thicknesser blades", each worked.

eg:
