Sanding mitre joins
Hi All,
I have just assembled a drawers top with jarrah framing a ply centre. I mitred the jarrah How can I sand with the grain when they cross at the corners? I guess I could relax and lightly sand my way up through all the grades instead of the 80, 120,240, 400 I usually do. Or I could clamp blocks so I won't overlap onto the crossed grain. I have started sanding by hand so iI can see and hear whats happening with the wood and cricket.

When you have finished basic sanding, try putting your finest sand paper on your block/sanding pad and line it up along the mitre, then sand back along the grain

How big are the drawers??
Box makers sometimes use a method involving sandpaper stuck on a flat surface (like mdf) .
They then move the surface to be sander in a circular pattern over the sandpaper.
It works great for mitred corners on the top and bottom for boxes, so I guess its just a bigger bit of mdf, and more sandpaper.
I currently have 4 bits of sandpaper stuck down for a larger box
Just another 2 cents worth.
