G'day from Berlin

Hi all, I'm a wood addict from way back. I had a workshop for a little while in Enoggera making furniture and then did some reno work. Currently though, I'm living in Germany without my tools, without a shed and a few train stops away from a reasonable hardware shop. So I've been scratching my woodworking itch following your projects and discussions here.

I'm no true expert, unlike a lot you, but I've created my fair share of saw dust and hopefully can chip in the odd idea or two.

Yeah, with winters like that, it's no wonder you end up with such intricate works of art as those Christmas pyramid windmills- I'm sure you will have been exposed to them at some stage. Anyway, back out to the verandah-cum-workshop to sip on a beer and listen to the cricket as....ooh I'm a mongrel! Actually, the sun is no joke, and it's a bit disconcerting working in shorts and no shirt. (sawdust in the navel etc) Maybe you could take up a bit of woodcarving? That would require little space and fairly compact tooling.

Anyway, welcome to the mix, become an armchair expert if you can't get down and dirty yourself. Cheers

Thanks Bill... sort of. I'd kill to hear a few (hundred) overs with a beer in each hand. As far as the carving goes, I've actually located a shop with all sorts of tools for to keep me occupied and my pockets empty. www.fine-tools.com I think I'll get myself a set of the MHG butt chisels... perfect for traveling. :U
