Need help to attach Backyard roof to house

Hi guys,

I'm about to attach a new roof for the deck to the existing house frame with steel beam 80x40 and bracket. As per picture attached, can you advise if it can be done by simply screw the bracket into the house fascia (red arrow) or do I have to find the joist/beam hidden behind that by using stud finder ?
