When I get my workshop finished.

G'evenin All,

I'ts a a very cold night here in West Wales, U.K. (snow expected on the mountains behind the house).

Have just cleaned up after doing some household painting. When I'm finally finished in the house I intend to cross the yard and set to work on my workshop.

Next year I become entitled to my state pension and will, at last, have the time to begin restoring a 20' trailer/sailer.

Looking forward to hanging the rod off the back and hopefully catching something for the barbecue.

G'day mate,

I left the UK back in 1962 for warmer climes. :U I'm into sailing as well as woodwork, so we have that in common. What's the TS? Mine is a 26 ft with inboard diesel, quite capable of offshore sailing. Also have a half share with SIL in Catalina 320 34 ft keeler up in Brisbane. I take it for three months of the year to sail Queensland coast to get away from Melbourne's winter. Hope your workshop is VERY well insulated. When you get set up we do expect piccies. So again welcome mate and join in.

Your boat sounds great. Mine is a 1960's GRP, cutter rigged bermudan. With retracting keel (wind-up) she draws 1' and with keel down 3'6". Only suitable for coastal/estuary cruising. Power is via an old but good Seagull outboard.

I've seen a picture of a launching ramp in the UK and if your local ramp is anything like that you have my admiration.Both my boats are tupperware (most practical). At present the next job is to re make four locker doors on the Catalina. I'll do this in teak and teak veneer. It will be interesting to see the work you do in refurbishing your TS.

you ask about a palm sander ,i have a mains atlas copco and have never had any probs. really powerfull and does the job .
