Doing a Stiffened Raft Slab in Two Pours...!

I am shortly going to be adding a front room and a garage to my 1960s house. The front room foundations are strip footings which are connected up to the slab beside it. Because of this, it is going to be a little tricky to get both of them correct at the same time, as I am doing this myself (to save money).
