designing windows

Hi all, I've been thinking about this for a while and I've read back through the forum trying to find if the question has been answered. I'd like to try making windows from scratch. Is there a book or website that explains how to do it ? I'm interested in the design issues with the framing/fixing the windows to different types of wall construction as well as the making of the actual window frames. I've found bits and pieces in different threads, but what I'd really like is a step by...
