T wall section. Want to knock 1 edge away

Hey guys I am about to knock out a wall in my house. Looking down on it the whole section is like a " T " I am taking out the long ( vertical in this T description ) leg of the T, and leaving the horizontal plane. Problem is that it is 'locked' in. After knocking out all the unlocked ones, any ideas as to how i see to the rest? So i just belt em out as far as I can and then grind the remainder down to something near flat? I am compensating for the structure by adding a wall on...
