Bathroom reno: Q's from out of touch chippie

Does it really matter weather wpm goes on before or after bathroom (2200 x 2800)screed? I thought after the screed to prevent creating "tub" for water to sit if there were any leaks. But watching a mates place being built and they have wpm then screed mix over that? What about before and after? Any suggestions on good brand of wpm or are they much of a muchness. No doubt the tiler bloke i am buying tiles off will push a product. I am a little worried about about doing the screed, is...
