green timber for pergola

Hi all

I'm looking to build a pergola with big timber - 6x6inch posts, and 8x2 inch pearers and joists. Spans for the bearers and joists will be a round 4 metres.

Am I likely to regret using green timber? Should I cough up for propoer structural timber?
