Join at corner of a deck

Hi there,
I'm in a bit of a quandary about what angle to join the decking of two verandahs or decks. It isn't a straight fwd join of two equally sized decks, as one is 2m and the other a bit over 2.5m, and there is an angled or cut-off corner(see attached drawing, not to scale)
I'm trying to lay a double thickness joist in the right place for the decking runs to meet. My instinct tells me to join the decking at 45degrees, but that puts the centre line well off to one side.
What is the standard practice on jobs like this?
