Tiling on painted wall

I've sealed the wall with an acrylic sealer/primer/undercoat and then hit it with another primer for tiling. But I think I might have stuffed up and now after reading threads here, I am thinking I cannot tile onto the undercoated surface.:)(

Thinking ahead, if I have stuffed up and the adhesive wont hold, I can always add a sheet of cement fibre board - it is a bit more buggerising around but at least the tiles will hold.

Is it possible to tile direct onto the acrylic sealer/primer/undercoated wall?
